1. These terms
These terms and conditions apply to this website and to the services we provide at St Matthew's Pharmacy, 44 Malabar Road, Leicester, LE1 2PD. By using this website or booking an appointment with us, you accept these terms.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, or our duties as a registered pharmacy under NHS and GPhC rules.
2. Booking appointments
- Appointments can be booked through this website, by telephone, or in person.
- A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation from us or from our booking system.
- Please arrive a few minutes early. If you are significantly late we may need to shorten or rearrange your appointment.
- Please give us accurate information when booking. Some services, including travel vaccinations, depend on it being correct.
3. Cancellations and missed appointments
- If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. You can do this using the link in your confirmation, by phone, or by email.
- Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may incur a charge. We will always tell you before applying one.
- If we have to cancel or rearrange your appointment, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer an alternative or a full refund of anything you have paid.
4. Payment
- NHS services are free at the point of use, although the standard NHS prescription charge may apply to medicines unless you are exempt.
- Private services must be paid for at the time of the appointment unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- Prices for private services are given before you commit. We may change prices from time to time, but not after a booking is confirmed.
5. Refunds
Refunds are considered on a case by case basis. We will normally refund you in full where we cancel a service, or where a service was not provided as described. For reasons of patient safety we cannot accept the return of medicines once they have left the pharmacy, and we cannot refund them, except where the law requires otherwise or the medicine was supplied in error.
6. Our right to refuse or withdraw a service
As a registered pharmacy we have a professional duty to act in your best interests. We may decline to provide a service where:
- it would not be clinically appropriate or safe for you;
- you fall outside the eligibility criteria for the service;
- we do not have the information we need to supply it safely;
- we reasonably suspect misuse, fraud, or a request that is unlawful; or
- a member of our team is subjected to abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour.
Where we decline, we will explain why and, where we can, point you towards a more appropriate service.
7. Information on this website
The content of this website is general information about our services. It is not clinical advice and does not replace a consultation with a pharmacist, GP or other qualified healthcare professional. Please read our Disclaimer.
We take care to keep this site accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is free from errors or always current. Prices, services and opening hours may change.
8. Limitation of liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any breach of your statutory rights.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for any loss arising from your reliance on general information published on this website rather than on advice given to you personally.
9. Availability of this website
We aim to keep this website available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Parts of the site, including online booking, rely on third party services and may be unavailable from time to time.
10. Intellectual property

11. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please tell us at info@stmatthewspharmacy.co.uk or by speaking to the pharmacist in charge. We take complaints seriously and will respond promptly. If your complaint concerns an NHS service and you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate it through the NHS complaints procedure.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
